Councillor Karl Love – East Cowes Ward
I would like to thank the people of East Cowes for your support, encouragement and contribution during what has been a very busy year. I am here to support and represent you first and foremost.
It’s been a year of great change for East Cowes with the demolition of the Redux buildings and creation of new parking at the Red Funnel Terminal. Our town has been transformed in many ways and I have been working hard to try and ensure this is to the benefit of our towns people. The Floating Bridge continues to be troublesome and still requires improvements. The bridge workers themselves are doing a very good job in difficult circumstances and I thank them for their hard work. I have been working positively with the East Cowes Town Council and community groups to address local issues and raise our public profile. I also want to thank our town crafters who have helped brighten our town and those who helped with the recovery of important town heritage artefacts.
I have worked to ensure our community is kept informed and are included in local and Island issues. I hold our island council to account in all things using positive critical analysis and reflection. I’m sure my creative spelling has brought a smile to many faces. I place equality of opportunity, inclusion, transparency and fairness at the top of my agenda. East Cowes is one of the Islands major economic jewels and we need to ensure that we the local people drive creativity, positive change and planning for a brighter future.
The people of East Cowes have worked together in these difficult times strengthening it’s already fantastic community spirit and relationships with one another. Everyone deserves thanks for your efforts in maintaining social distancing and for supporting one another.
