Annual Report 2024

As always, residents are my main priority along with the local environment. Working alongside IW Council Environmental Officers, I have successfully resolved various local issues relating to fly tipping, waste, dog fouling, highway and footpath issues. I also continue to receive various reports relating to anti-social behaviour around our town. Continuing to work with Hampshire Constabulary, our local Beat Bobby, PCSO and residents, these issues continue to be addressed and resolved.

Locally, my work is ongoing as a Trustee in the successful continuance of Shanklin Theatre and the newly developing Shanklin Performing Arts Centre. The planning application for the new Arts Centre has now been submitted to the planning authority and will be determined in the early summer.

As a member of Shanklin Town Council, I have been involved in working with residents, businesses and consultants to develop the Bay Area Place Plan. Public consultations were held during July last year, and the final report has been delivered and formally launched in January 2024.

I’m also very proud to be involved in the forefront of organising the Shanklin Town annual Remembrance Day Service. The service in 2023 attracted nearly 600 towns folk. My thanks go to all that contributed to making the event a success in remembering our armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.

I have supported numerous housing and regeneration projects, licensing applications amongst other applications throughout the last year. I will continue to represent residents on local planning applications and all other issues.

I am proud to represent Shanklin at IW Council and will continue to give my best - I thank the residents for their support.
