Local Council Tax Support

Every year local authorities are required to undertake a review of their scheme to ensure it still meets local needs as well as financial impacts. Any potential changes require full consultation with residents and the final decision made at Full Council for implementation on the 1 April every year for the statutory provisions to be undertaken.

Consultation to be undertaken if decision is made to make changes to the scheme for 8 weeks. Each claimant will be written to advising them of the changes, advice sent through the anti-poverty meetings, online survey via questionnaire explaining the proposals and likely impact – paper survey on request, People Matter consulted, Age Friendly Group provided with details, letter to the Parish Councils, Letter sent to the police commissioner and fire authority.
