THAT the minutes of the meeting held on 9 November 2016 were approved without amendment.

Declarations of Interest

To invite Members to declare any interest they might have in the matters on the agenda.

Minutes:

Cllr Debbie Andre declared an interest as she was the Cabinet Member for Children’s Service, Education and Lifelong Skills and may be required to leave the room if funding was mentioned.

 

Justine Ball declared that she worked one day a month for the National Association of the Teachers Religious Education.

 

15.

The Revision of Living Difference III

To consider the report of the professional adviser that summarises the background to the review of the Agreed Syllabus, Living Difference III and recommends amendments for approval in order to produce a revised syllabus, Living difference IV to be made available to schools on 30 November 2021.

Minutes:

 

A presentation was given and changes from the last syllabus were highlighted. It was also described how living difference supports teachers in delivering quality Religious Education. Each group met separately to discuss the implications of adopting Living Difference as the agreed syllabus.

 

Each group vote for or against and the syllabus was unanimously voted for.

 

RESOLVED:

 

THAT the Agreed Syllabus Conference approves the Agreed Syllabus Living Difference111, to begin implementation in Isle of Wight schools from October 2021.
