Exclusion of the Public and Press

To consider passing a resolution that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely Agenda item number 8, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

RESOLVED:

 

THAT, under section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely minute number 30, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information, namely ‘information relating to any individual’ (paragraph 1), ‘information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual’ (paragraph 2), and ‘information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information)’ (paragraph 3)

Appointment of Director of Children's Services

Minutes:

The Committee advised that the decision had been difficult between two candidates however following discussion:

THAT the preferred candidate be offered the position of Director of Children’s Services subject to conditions, if they did not accept then second preference would be offered the position.
