Declarations of Interest

To invite Members to declare any interest they might have in the matters on the agenda.

Minutes:

Councillors J Bacon and P Brading declared an interest as they had previously held the role of Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Education and Skills, therefore one of the candidates was known to them.

 

Councillor M Lilley asked for it to be noted that his wife no longer work within Children’s Services.

Exclusion of the Public and Press

To consider passing a resolution that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely Agenda item number 8, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs and of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

Minutes:

That, under section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely minute number 22, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information, namely ‘information relating to any individual’ (paragraph 1), ‘information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual’ (paragraph 2), and ‘information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information)’ (paragraph 3)

Short listing for appointment of Director of Children's Services

To review the applications received and determine a shortlist in readiness for the next stage in the recruitment process.

Minutes:

The Committee discussed the applications received for the appointment of Director of Children’s Services and agreed those shortlisted for interview based on the criteria set out in the job description and person specification that had been provided.

 

RESOLVED:

 

THAT the Committee shortlist applications for the appointment of the Director of Children’s Services in accordance with the job description and person specification be agreed.
