Exclusion of the Public and Press

To consider passing a resolution that, under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely Agenda item number 8, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs and of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

 

Minutes:

That, under section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, namely minute number 26, on the grounds that there is likely to be disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs  and  and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act and in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information, namely ‘information relating to any individual’ (paragraph 1), ‘information which is likely to reveal the identity of an individual’ (paragraph 2), and ‘information relating to the financial or business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information)’ (paragraph 3).

To review the applications received and determine a shortlist in readiness for the next stage in the recruitment process.

The Committee discussed the applications received for the Chief Executive and head of paid service appointment and agreed those shortlisted for interview based on the job description and person specification that had been provided.

 

The Committee considered the topic of the presentation and questions to be asked by them during the interview.

 

RESOLVED:

 

THAT The committee shortlist applications for the appointment of a Chief Executive and head of paid service in accordance with the job description and person specification in appendix 2 be agreed.
